Beneil Dariush Says His Desire To Finish Fights May Hurt Him
Posted by Joseph Lee on 04.10.2014

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Beneil Dariush (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) said that his desire to finish fights could end up hurting his career overall. He will fight Ramsey Nijem (8-4 MMA, 4-3 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 39 at the Du Arena in Abu Dhabi. The entire fight card streams live on UFC Fight Pass.

On his finishing mentality: "It's the fact that I don't really know how to fight for a decision. I have a lot of finishing techniques. When I get even the smallest chance, I can finish a guy. That's where I'm strongest. I guess you could call it good killer instinct."

On Nijem: "If you watch him fight, one, he's grown up inside the UFC. Every fight he's gotten better, so that's a very dangerous fighter, in my opinion. That's something to watch out for, so I'm going in there expecting him to have something new for me."

On how he prepared: "I just made sure to study him really well. He did a couple of things that threw off all the other guys that he fought."
