Dustin Poirier Says He's Going to Make Akira Corassani a Highlight Reel
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 04.14.2014

Dustin Poirier recently spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Akira Corassani at TUF Nations Finale. Check out the highlights:

On his recent losses: "I think I'm far from [reaching my potential], but my progression is right on time, I would say. This is going to be my 10th time, and I feel like I've shown improvements in all my fights."

On Corassani: "Everybody's looking to make a name off the guy they're fighting. It sucks for him. He's fighting somebody, and somebody good. It ain't gonna happen. He's not going to make a name for himself. He's going to be a highlight reel."

On changing how he prepares for his fights: "I'm a big guy for the weight, and I stay in good shape, but me being in good shape, I still have to cut a good bit of weight, and I don't want to put myself in a strain, like I did when I fought (Cub) Swanson. So I'm trying to be a professional with those decisions. If I can get a six or eight week camp, I'll be good to go."

On Conor McGregor calling him out: "He fights for the UFC? I'm focused on the big fights. I've never heard of the guy."
