Miesha Tate Says She'd Like to Fight Gina Carano
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 04.20.2014

Miesha Tate is aiming for another big name now that she's picked up her first UFC win. Tate, who beat Liz Carmouche last night at UFC on FOX 11, spoke during the post-fight press release (via MMAjunkie) and said that while she is interested in fights with both Sarah Kaufman and Holly Holm, she would particularly love to face Gina Carano.

"I'd like it," Tate said when asked about Carano. "I'll take that fight all day long, for sure. I mean, I'll fight anybody, but I'd love to fight Gina."

Carano's status with the UFC and potential return to MMA has been the subject of a lot of speculation over the last several weeks. Carano left MMA in 2009 and set upon an acting career, but she never officially retired and has remained under contract with Zuffa, which expires in June.

Dana White said of Carano at the presser, "I'm confident that we will (sign a new deal), but we'll see what happens. Until we have a deal, we're not even thinking about anything."
