MMA Junkie reports that Travis Browne's coach Ricky Lundell revealed an x-ray of Travis Browne's (15-2-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) broken hand on Twitter. Browne lost to Fabricio Werdum (18-5-1 MMA, 6-2 UFC) by unanimous decision at UFC on FOX 11 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida on FOX.
When asked about Browne appearing to slow down after the first round, Dana White said: "They think he has a broken rib. And he definitely has a broken hand."
Some said that Browne was making excuses, but Lundell provided proof on Twitter.
On the official list of medical suspensions for the event, Browne received 90 days due to a broken nose and a facial laceration above his right eye. The suspensions didn't mention hand or rib injuries but the post-fight examinations aren't always comprehensive.
Browne may now be out for a longer amount of time as he recovers. He previously won three straight fights by knockout over names like Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett. Browne is still considered a win or two away from a heavyweight title shot against Cain Velasquez.
