Dana White Says Dominic Cruz Can Have an Immediate Title Shot
Posted by Larry Csonka on 04.21.2014

- Former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz (19-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has not fought since October of 2011 due to various injury issues, and due to that was stripped of his title. But UFC President Dana White recently stated that Cruz could have an immediate title match when he returns. Here are the highlights…

On Cruz's Status: "I have literally heard nothing from Dominick Cruz," White said this past weekend. "I don't know what's going on with him."

On Cruz Getting an Immediate Title Shot: "I don't think, after this long of a layoff, it would be right to throw him in there for that fight – unless he wants it," White said. "He was the champ before all this stuff happened to him, and if he wants to come right back and fight [for the title], then yeah, I'd do it."

On White's Suggestion: "Barao is one of those guys, man – I just think Barao is so nasty," he said. "I'd fight somebody else, if it were me personally."
