Who does Kaufman think will win the fight?
- Sarah Kaufman has defeated Alexis Davis via submission back when they both fought for Strikeforce. That fight earned her a title shot against Ronda Rousey, which she lost in the first round via arm bar. MMAjunkie.com recently spoke with Kaufman about the UFC 175 main event and asked her to share he thoughts on the fight. Here are the highlights…
On Davis' Ground Game: "I've been saying for a while that Alexis' ground game is amazing. She's very strong on the ground. I think if it's in the rounds in the beginning, then Alexis will need a bit more time. Then I think Alexis comes on stronger as the fight goes on."
Who Has The Advantage if The Fight Goes Short vs. Going Long?: "It will be interesting to see if it's a faster fight or a longer fight," Kaufman said. "The latter plays to Alexis, and the former plays to Ronda. I think if it goes into the later rounds, Alexis has a lot of durability, Ronda's speed is going to be a big factor for Alexis in the first two to three rounds."
On Who Has the Strength and Speed Advantage: "I think Ronda will have the speed and strength advantage in the standup," she said. "So I'll be interested to see if Alexis tries to use more movement or does her usual on-the-spot striking. I think Ronda will be able to close that distance pretty quick to clinch or take it to the ground if she wants."
Who Will Win The Fight?: "I'll say Ronda is going to win, but Alexis is right there."
