Jon Jones Says He Would Fight Chuck Liddell If He Came Out Of Retirement
Posted by Joseph Lee on 04.24.2014

MMA Junkie reports that Jon Jones (19-1 MMA, 13-1 UFC) said he would fight Chuck Liddell if he ever came out of retirement. Liddell previously held the light heavyweight title that Jones currently holds. Liddell has previously said that his training partner Glover Teixeira (22-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) would take the belt from Jones at UFC 172 on Saturday at the Baltimore Arena in Maryland. Liddle previously told FOXSports.com if he were still fighting, he would have "walked through his punches" and defeated Jones.

On last night's episode of UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 1, Jones said: "At the end of the day, if Chuck wants to come out retirement, I welcome him to a superfight. You've got to expect Chuck to take his boy's back or have his boy's back, and that's what he's doing. He's coming out saying a lot of other stuff like he would walk through my punches if he ever fought me and he would have beat me in his prime and all this other stuff. I'm not going to sit here and insult Chuck. He's a very, very loved person by the masses, so I'm just going to keep my mouth shut. But I mean, it's like, come on, Chuck, just knock it off. Keep your mouth shut."
