Thomas Vasquez Says People Will Know His Name After Bellator 118
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.01.2014

Thomas Vasquez recently spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Marcos Galvao at Bellator 118 tomorrow. Check out the highlights:

On the greater competition in this fight: "Marcos Galvao will definitely be a step up (for me). But it'll be a chance for people to find out who Thomas Vasquez is."

On the difficulty of getting good fights: I have to take fights that not only make me a better fighter, but try to get my name out there at the same time. That's really hard to do. I may not have fought a lot but that doesn't mean I'm not training and getting myself ready mentally and physically. I'm always training to make my skills better to become a better martial artist, not just a better fighter. I'm always looking to improve in every aspect of my game and always try to keep an open mind."

On his lack of experience compared to Galvao: "Fighting doesn't necessarily make you better. The training is going to make you better overall. If you want to fight every week, go ahead. But fighting is something I'm doing because I love this sport. I'm a born fighter who has become an athlete over time."

On being excited for the fight: "Me and Galvao are just going to have one of those really good moments where we're making history. I promise you, you guys will know who Thomas Vasquez is come Friday. I'm definitely going to make it known who I am."
