Cat Zingano Cleared To Train, Sarah Kaufman Offers Her A "Tune Up" Fight
Posted by Joseph Lee on 05.06.2014

MMA Junkie reports that Cat Zingano (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has been cleared to return to her full training routine. Sarah Kaufman (17-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) took the opportunity to offer her first challenge after she had regenerative stem cell therapy and aggressive rehabilitation on her knee.

Kaufman wrote:

Kaufman has wanted a fight with Zingano ever since Kaufman beat Leslie Smith at the TUF Nations Finale. She originally wanted to fight her at UFC 174 in Vancouver next month. Zingano has been out for over a year. Her last fight was an April 2013 win over Miesha Tate, which was supposed to get her a shot at UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (and a coaching spot on The Ultimate Fighter 18). Her next fight hasn't been announced. Rousey will fight Alexis Davis on July 5 at UFC 175. Dana White hasn't said if Zingano will remain the #1 contender or if she'll need to win another fight first.
