The card will still be a PPV...
Bellator MMA on a conference call today confirmed that lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez was injured and suffered a concussion during training. As a result, Alvarez was forced to withdraw from his scheduled main event match-up with Michael Chandler.
According to Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney, former champion Michael Chandler will now face season 9 lightweight tournament winner Will Brooks. The fight will be for a new Bellator interim lightweight title. The event will still go forward as a pay-per-view event despite the unfortunately circumstances of losing the scheduled trilogy bout between champion Eddie Alvarez against Michael Chandler in their rubber match one week out.
In addition, the season 10 heavyweight tournament final bout between Blagoi Ivanov against Alexander Volkov is moving up to the main PPV card. The light heavyweight tournament final bout between Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Muhammed Lawal will now headline the card.
Below is the updated main PPV card for Bellator 120:
PPV Main Card
Bellator Light Heavyweight Tournament Final: Rampage Jackson (34-11) vs. King Mo (12-3)
Bellator Interim Lightweight World Title Fight: Michael Chandler (12-1) vs. Will Brooks (13-1)
Bellator Light Heavyweight Fight: Alexander Shlemenko (50-7) vs. Tito Ortiz (16-11-1)
