Palelei knocked out Ruan Potts...
Below are some highlights from Soa Palelei from last night's post-fight press conference for UFC Fight Night 40. Palelei scored a first round knockout on the main card over Ruan Potts. Palelei has now won three straight fights in his second UFC run. In Palelei's first UFC fight in December 2007, he was knocked out in the third round by Eddie Sanchez. It took almost six years for Palelei to earn another shot in the Octagon.
Palelei on his ground & pound knockout over Potts: "My last 11 fights have been knockouts, and my ground & pound, if I get on top of you, you're not going anywhere. It's one of those that it's always good to get a win like that."
Palelei on getting back into the UFC: "I was really pushing to get back in the UFC. Now I'm here, and I deserve to be here. I'm going to keep learning, keep pushing and keep climbing up the ranks."
Palelei on what's next for him and deserving to be in the UFC now: "We'll see what happens with my management team and Joe Silva. Whoever they want me to fight, I'll fight. I'm here to stay – not for today, but for a long time. I deserve to be here the same as other guys here."
