Contrary to reports…
- Erick Silva's manager Wallid Ismail spoke about Silva's status post-UFC Fight Night 40. At the event's post show press conference, UFC president Dana White said Silva was rushed to the hospital with a possible concussion and fractured jaw. Here is what Ismail had to say...
On Silva's Jaw Reported Injuries: "No fractures, nothing at all. He just got some stitches in the forehead, but the rest is fine. He walked out of the hospital on his own. He was just exhausted after the fight."
On Silva Gassing Out So Fast In His Fight: "We don't know what happened, we don't know if it was the rear-naked choke attempt in the first round," he said. "He's really good, but something happened. We need to find out what's the issue. His training camp was perfect, we have no excuses. He was great. He never cut weight that easily."
On the Fight With Brown: "That's why MMA is so wonderful," Ismail said of the main event. "He almost knocked him out, but he came back impressively and won the fight. MMA is so exciting."
