Eddie Alvarez Apologizes for Remarks on Interim Title Bout at Bellator 120
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 05.13.2014

Bellator MMA lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez, who recently was forced to bow out of his scheduled title fight with Michael Chandler at Bellator 120 due to a concussion injury, posted an apology on his Twitter account for his recent comments on the replacement interim title fight Bellator put together for the event. Michael Chandler is now facing Will Brooks for an interim lightweight title.

During an interview with MMAFighting.com, Alvarez stated that Chandler "has to fight for a shy belt that adds up to nothing." He also told MMAjunkie on the new fight, "Not entirely excited that it's an interim title, but business is business, and they've got to do what they've got to do. Whatever. Good luck to both of them guys. I'll be pulling for Michael Chandler to win.
