Alexander Shlemenko Says Size Isn't a Factor in His Fight With Tito Ortiz
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.17.2014

Alexander Shlemenko spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Tito Ortiz at Bellator 120. Check out the highlights:

On fighting a heavier opponent in Ortiz: "If the fight (with Ortiz) was a five-round fight, it wouldn't worry me at all. For many years, I had sparring partners who were much bigger than me and much taller than me, and I noticed that I do really well against them. I even competed against heavyweights in amateur events, and I also did really well. So I thought why not try myself as a professional? I can't say I really worry about the size difference."

On taking the non-title fight: "It was very simple I just wanted to fight as often as possible, and it seems as champion, I'm not able to defend my belt very often, because I have to wait for the challengers. It's a good opportunity for me to have another fight, especially against a legend."

On Ortiz' strategy: "I'm 90 percent sure he will try to take me down and just hold me down."
