He wasn't happy...
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Michael Chandler (12-1 MMA, 9-1 BMMA) said he had an emotional reaction to learning that Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez (25-3 MMA, 9-1 BMMA) had pulled out of their Bellator 120 fight.
He said: "It wasn't just the opportunity to fight Eddie. It was an opportunity to fight a top 5 guy in the world, the opportunity to avenge a loss, the opportunity to get the belt back, the opportunity to fight on pay-per-view in a highly anticipated pay-per-view. At first, my human emotions took the best of me for a good 10-20 minutes, and I was like, ‘I can't believe this.'"
He will now fight Will Brooks (13-1 MMA, 5-1 BMMA) for the interim belt. He said he eventually got over the change and calmed down.
