"Those are the rules..."
As previously reported, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson was fined $10,000 by the Mississippi Athletic Commission for shoving Muhammed Lawal at the Bellator 120 weigh-ins and then getting into it with MAC chairman Jon Lewis. Jackson's rep Lee Gwynn issued the following statement to MMAjunkie saying that they understand why he was fined:
Quinton was fined 10% of his purse by the commission. Pushing and shouting on the scale isn't allowed and those are the rules, simple as that. To make it worse it got very aggressive back stage afterwards. Quinton is a professional and is sorry for his behaviour. Him and Mo really don't like each other, they've been banging heads for many years now. MMA Elite managed to calm the rivalry whilst they were both sponsored by them, mainly down to (MMA Elite CEO) Alden (Halpern) but after they moved on it was back to the same old position of not liking each other. They trained hard and it whilst promoting bumped heads several times. It all came to a head when they went nose to nose on the scale. The fight didn't bring them any closer like fights sometimes do. Those guys are as mean to each other as ever, I think it will always be that way with Quinton and Mo!
