Martin Kampmann Says He's Laying Low Right Now
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.21.2014

Martin Kampmann spoke with MMAjunkie about his MMA career and more. Check out the highlights:

On his fighting career: "I enjoy fighting, but I'm taking a break from fighting right now, anyway. So it's nice to have something to occupy my time. It could be just a lucky streak right here, but if I do well in some other (poker tournaments), we'll see."

On doing some teaching at Alpha Male, which led to reports that he was taking a job there: "I think maybe everyone jumped the gun a little bit. I had a good time up there, and Urijah's a good guy. I definitely can see myself going into some coaching – I enjoy coaching guys that want to fight and have the desire to compete. It's something I want to do more in."

On a potential return to the Octagon: "There's no projected date (to fight) right now. I'm still just laying low. I don't want to put any date on it. I'm still training here and there, but I'm trying to recover from the injuries and not (mess) myself up. I'm getting more into coaching and stuff like that, and I have poker and some other business ventures I'm trying out, setting myself up for when I'm done fighting. It put things in perspective that I won't be fighting forever."
