"People like to see that and make it exciting."
Speaking at last night's UFC Fight Night 41 post-fight press conference, UFC middleweight fighter CB Dollaway addressed his taunting during his fight with Francis Carmont on the main card. Dollaway defeated Carmont by decision and was awarded a Performance of the Night Bonus. Dollaway also addressed Dana White's sarcastic comment on Twitter about Dollaway's post-fight interview. Below are some highlights:
Dollaway on his taunting during the fight: "The taunting was for the fans. People like to see that and make it exciting. That's why we do this, to put on a show and make it entertaining. Hopefully, you were entertained."
Dollaway on if he thinks he should be ranked in the top 10 now: "I'll leave that up to you guys, the media – you guys make the rankings. But I feel I'm in the top 10, and I'm now a contender in the middleweight division."
Dollaway on his performance: "I wanted to finish, but sometimes you don't get what you want. [Hopefully I gave] the fans what they wanted."
Dollaway on his post-fight interview and Dana White's comment on Twitter over it: "Yeah, I probably have to get better on the mic, but when you're exhausted after fighting – I let it all hang out, gave everything I had, so yeah, I was tired after the fight. It was a tough fight. I was bleeding out of both eyes. Sorry I couldn't put a better performance on the mic. I try to let my fighting do the talking, but next time, I'll have something better to say, I guess. Sorry."
