He’ll reminisce more when the ride is over…
MMAjunkie Radio recently interviewed UFC lightweight fighter Yves Edwards. Edwards faces Piotr Hallman at UFC Fight Night 42 this weekend. Below are some highlights for the interview.
Edwards on his longevity in the sport: "I've been really lucky. Good genes, and I haven't been through too many wars. Even the big shots I was on the wrong side of, there hasn't been a whole lot of them, so it's been good."
Edwards on still enjoying fighting: "I think I'm still enjoying the ride. I've still got my hands up on this roller coaster, screaming and enjoying it. Once it's over, I'll look back and enjoy it more. But I'm trying not to soak it in yet. When you start reminiscing, you're close to the end of the track and I don't want to see the end of the track. When it's coming, I want to approach it gracefully. I don't want to run into it."
Edwards on appreciating getting to the level he was able to: "I don't expect this to be my last time. (But) any time could be your last time. I really appreciate all the love. I didn't think I'd ever get to this level, and I appreciate what it is."
