Matt Brown Isn't Worried About Anyone Getting A Title Shot Before Him

He was promised a shot...
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Matt Brown (19-11 MMA, 12-5 UFC) said that he's not worried about anyone else getting a welterweight title shot before him. He was told he would get the shot if he can beat Robbie Lawler (23-10 MMA, 8-4 UFC) at UFC on FOX 12 in San Jose. However, before that fight was announced as a title eliminator, a UFC 174 fight between Rory MacDonald (16-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) and Tyron Woodley (13-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) was originally predicted to be the fight that decides who will challenge Johny Hendricks next.
On if he's worried about being passed over: "It hasn't crossed my mind. That's a pretty interesting fight. I could see it going either way, but I can't worry about what's going to happen after the fight. I can't worry about July 27. All I can worry about is my fight on July 26."
On understanding why he's in a title eliminator: "I understand why [they gave me this] fight and not the title (shot). I'm not foolish about it. I know exactly what's going on, and I'll be happy as long as I win the fight."
On fighting Lawler: "It definitely gets me excited. It gets exciting when you think about it. All these things get you excited, but I just put it all to the back of my mind. Every day I have to get up and focus on what I have to do that day to get better. I can't worry about things I can't control."
