Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 06.12.2014

The UFC has officially announced that Johnny Case was forced to withdrawal from his scheduled bout with Joe Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night 44 later this month due to an injury. Bryan Barberena is now scheduled to take his place against Ellenberger in the lightweight bout.

Barberena has a pro MMA record of 9-2, and he trains with John Crouch at the MMA Lab in Arizona. He and Ellenberger will both make their Octagon debuts with the fight.

UFC Fight Night 44 is set for June 28 in San Antonio, Texas.
