Viacom Reportedly Looking to Replace Bjorn Rebney With Scott Coker
Posted by Larry Csonka on 06.18.2014

According to mmafighting.com, it appears that big changes are about to happen to Bellator. New reports state that Viacom (the majority owner of Bellator MMA) have informed Bjorn Rebney (the founder and CEO of Bellator) that that they are working towards replacing him with former Strikeforce CEO and founder Scott Coker. An announcement could come as soon as today, but word is that Rebney (who founded the company back in 2007) isn't giving up his control easily.

Viacom purchased a majority stake of Bellator in late 2011 following the UFC announcing their huge deal with FOX. For some time there had been rumblings that Viacom executives and Rebney did not share the same vision for the future of the promotion. Coker's contract and non-compete clause with Zuffa ended in March of this year, and Viacom has been in talks to bring him in ever since.
