New Mexico State Athletic Commission Upholds Sanchez vs. Pearson Decision
Posted by Larry Csonka on 06.19.2014

According to MMAjunkie.com, the New Mexico State Athletic Commission has upheld the controversial split-decision victory that Diego Sanchez (25-7 MMA, 14-7 UFC) picked up over Ross Pearson (15-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 42. Pearson's team filed an appeal after the event, noting that 14 of 14 media outlets scored the fight for Pearson, with 13 of 14 giving the fight to Pearson 30-27. New Mexico State Athletic Commission chairman Tom King stated that the commission's statutes and rules don't allow it to change such a decision.
