Nicholas Musoke Says He's Takinng Inspiration From Alexander Gustafsson
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 06.27.2014

Nicholas Musoke spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Fight Night 44 and more. Check out the highlights:

On Gustafsson: "What he has done has really paved the way for the rest of us coming out of Sweden. He beat guys consecutively before getting the title shot, a fight that I, among others, thought he won. But that's all in the past. I know he's focused and ready to leave no doubt."

On not having Gustafsson in his corner this fight: "You don't end up in the UFC without reason. You just need to put in the work. It will take some time a longer time for some and shorter time for others and you'll be there. I really can't answer in what way he might have helped me. But he did, though."

On not being faced by being an underdog: "I don't view it in that way. He's a tough opponent. It's a step up, rankings-wise, and I'm here to take it."

On his resilience: "I'm an MMA fighter, plain and simple. I do everything that comes with that. I'm adaptable. I find ways to win. I'm confident standing up and confident on the ground. I proved that in my last fight. Things will go wrong; you just need to suck it up and keep going."
