Antonio Braga Neto Planning To Drop To 170
Posted by Joseph Lee on 06.28.2014

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Antonio Braga Neto (9-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) said that he he will be dropping to 170 after he fights Clint Hester (10-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) tonight at UFC Fight Night 44, which airs on FOX Sports 1.

On his plans to drop weight: "I expect to eventually drop to 170 pounds. In the past, I used to fight at 205 pounds. But I have a real ease when it comes to losing weight."

On getting injured during his submission win over Anthony Smith last year at UFC on FUEL TV 10: "Despite it being a short fight, I broke my nose and injured a rib. My rib was already hurt beforehand but it was aggravated by a knee I took during that fight. So I had to sit idle for three months. And as soon as I got back to training and got booked to fight again, I injured my shoulder. I partially tore my supraspinatus muscle. That's why I was not able to get back to training until January. But now I'm ready to return. I'm feeling great. I hope to have several fights this year."

On finishing his fight early: "I think the UFC enjoys dynamic fights. I'm not the kind of fighter who's interested in winning by points. I'm not interested in feeling out my opponents, or gauging distance. I'm there to win as fast as I can, so I can celebrate with family."
