He doesn't need eleven months...
Cub Swanson spoke last night following his win at UFC Fight Night 44. Check out the highlights:
On potentially taking another fight if he can't get a quick shot at the title: "I'm not really one to cry about things, so I'm just excited to be in the position I'm in. I've worked real hard, so if another fight was a good opportunity for me, then I would take it. I'm not really trying to wait forever, so we'll see what happens."
On his eleven-month gap from his last fight: "I didn't feel any ring rust. I've been doing this for a long time now, so I trained all the way through the 11 months off, and I was just excited to finally getting a fight. When I knew it was a game opponent on a really big stage, it motivated me."
On his striking in the fight: "I think I just picked up the pace in the second round. I hit him with a body shot that slowed him down a little bit, but we were both throwing the whole time. I just felt like I was controlling each round."
On a title shot: "For me, winning a title is just like a dream. It's something I want to do so bad, but it's just something I feel is going to come to me if I keep doing what I'm doing. If I keep doing what I'm supposed to be doing, it will come. So I don't feel like I have to beg for it. If I keep doing what I'm doing and putting on good performances, it will come."
