To make sure he's going to be okay...
Stefan Struve's doctor Ram Dandillaya reported to the NSAC (via MMAjunkie) about Struve being cleared for competition after a heart condition put him on the shelf last year. Check out the highlights:
On discovering the condition after Struve fainted in 2013: "At that time, the patient was felt to be at risk and was advised not to continue with his athletic activity."
On his current heart condition: "He does report having some (premature ventricular contractions), but these are not bothersome and they are not described as palpitations."
On clearing Struve for competing: "I do believe that he understands all of my concerns but at this time he has performed veral well on his stress test as well as his resting (EKG) and I think we can continue to watch him carefully."
