New details on the situation...
The NSAC has released an amended complaint as filed by Nevada's attorney general against Chael Sonnen in relation to the drug tests he failed. MMAjunkie reports that the new complaint, which was filed on June 27th gives Sonnen until July 17th to notify the commission of intent to appeal. He faces a fine of up to $250,000 plus expenses related to the complaint, the suspension of his fight license and a requirement that he provide a clean drug test upon his next licensing application.
The site says that according to NSAC Executive Director Bob Burnett, he has not yet heard from Sonnen or his camp. The complaint details the full issues the NSAC has with Sonnen, including two drug tests that he failed which included the detection of anastrozole, clomifene, human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), human growth hormone (HGH) and recombinant human erythropoietin. All of those substances are banned.
Also included is an email from Sonnen in which he admits to using anastrozole and clomifene as treatment for getting off of doctor-prescribed testosterone. There is nothing in relation to the other substances.
