UFC Cancels UFC 176 in Los Angeles
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 07.08.2014

UFC officials have canceled UFC 176. The promotion announced at UFC.com that the Los Angeles event has been "postponed" after Jose Aldo suffered an injury and would be unable to defend the featherweight title against Chad Mendes. That left the promotion without a main event for the show with only a month to go.

All fights for the August 2nd show will be rescheduled elsewhere and the August 30th show in Sacramento will remain numbered UFC 177. Refunds are available at the original point of purchase.

In addition, the promotion announced that Bobby Green vs. Abel Trujillo and Jussier Formiga vs. Zach Makovsky, which were set for the show, will both take place on UFC Fight Night 47 instead. That show takes place on August 16th in Bangor, Maine.
