UFC 174 Reportedly Does Worst Buyrate in The Modern UFC Era

UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson appeared in the main event of three FOX cards, in an effort by the UFC to help the champion build star power. But according to mmafighting.com, it did not translate to PPV buys. At this time, it is estimated that UFC 174 only did 95,000 to 115,000 PPV buys. The event saw Johnson face off with Ali Bagautinov in the main event. To look at how bad that number is for the company, you would have to go back to UFC 53 to find numbers that low. UFC 53, which was headlined by UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski vs. Justin Eilers, did 90,000 PPV buys.
