Efrain Escudero vs Francisco Trinaldo Added To UFC Fight Night 51
Posted by Joseph Lee on 07.15.2014

MMA Fighting reports that The Ultimate Fighter 8 winner Efrain Escudero (22-8 MMA, 3-4 UFC) will return to the UFC for a fight with Francisco Trinaldo (14-4 MMA, 4-3 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 51. The event happens on September 13 at the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia, Brazil. Broadcast plans haven't been revealed.

In Escudero's first run with the UFC, he beat Cole Miller by TKO at UFC 103. He then went 1-2 and was released after issues with President Dana White, who said he needed an attitude adjustment. In his second run (after a 5-1 run in the independent scene), he lost four in a row. Now he went 4-1 and won the Superior Challenge lightweight title in Sweden.

Trnaldo, meanwhile, is 2-2 in his past four fights, including a decision loss to Michael Chiesa at UFC 173. Here's the current card:

Andrei Arlovski vs. Antonio Silva
Lukasz Sajewski vs. Leonardo Santos
Sergio Moraes vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio
Mike Rhodes vs. Paulo Thiago
Igor Araujo vs. George Sullivan
Jessica Andrade vs. Valerie Letourneau
Efrain Escudero vs. Francisco Trinaldo
