Bellator MMA has announced the signings of Paul Daley (34-13-2) and Melvin Manhoef (28-11-1 with 1 no contest). Daley will join the welterweight division, while Manhoef is expected to compete at middleweight.
Daley, 31, returns to Bellator two years after his sole bout for the promotion, and one year after his release. Bellator cut Daley loose last July due to legal issues which affected his ability to enter the United States.
Manhoef, 38, has bounced around promotions the past few years. His most recent MMA bout was a quick win against Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos in a return bout of their 2006 classic. He recently competed in kickboxing under the Glory banner, dropping a majority decision in the first round of a tournament.
Both Daley and Manhoef competed in Strikeforce for current Bellator President Scott Coker. "I've said it before and I'll say it again. We want Bellator to be a destination for not only the top-tier fighters in the sport, but the first-choice destination for fans to see the most entertaining fights in the sport, Coker said. "Both Paul and Melvin add a level of excitement to the roster that I can't wait to see inside our cage, and this is just the beginning."
