UPDATE: The NSAC Grants Vitor Belfort a License to Fight - Will Fight For Middleweight Title
Posted by Larry Csonka on 07.23.2014

UPDATE: The fight will take place at UFC 181, and that event will be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

ORIGINAL: The Nevada State Athletic Commission granted Vitor Belfort a license to fight in the state today via a unanimous vote. Belfort agreed to three conditions: 1) he will not fight prior to December, 2) he will agree to random drug testing and 3) he will fight nowhere else prior to fighting in the state of Nevada. The commissioners seemed impressed with Belfort's presentation, skipped deliberation and immediately voted unanimously to license him. They did note that they would drug test him "until he retired," but would do so in a fair way.

During the hearing it was stated that the UFC is planning for Belfort to fight on December 6th, and that the fight would be a "championship bout." This means that Belfort will get his shot at UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman on that date. UFC News posted the following on Twitter...
