Bellator Fighters Comment on the Viability of Random Drug Tests
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 07.31.2014

MMAjunkie spoke with some Bellator fighters and asked them whether random drug testing has been helping the issue of performance-enhancing drugs in MMA. Check out a couple of highlights:

Will Brooks: "The more ways we eliminate drugs and make more ways of testing, I think the guys in the background who are supplying the drugs are finding ways to beat that test or find ways to cover it up. I just think it's going to be a battle for as long as sports are around."

Tito Ortiz: "I hope the sport is clean. When I first started, it was a lot cleaner than it is now, when you're just making it legal for guys to do (testosterone-replacement) therapy. I think they just got rid of it, but at the same when you're saying it's OK, that sends a bad message to the fans, to the kids who are trying to be professional fighters. Hopefully, one day, it's is completely clean. I hope they keep doing random testing. I'm for it 100 percent, and I hope they keep doing it."
