UFC on Fox 12 Draws 2.5 Million Viewers
Posted by Dan Plunkett on 07.31.2014

UFC's 12th live fight special on Fox last Saturday drew a 1.5 household rating and 2.5 million viewers, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Viewership was even with the last UFC on Fox show from April 19, which featured heavyweights Fabricio Werdum and Travis Browne.

Fox's usual Major League Baseball Saturday night programming averages a 1.4 rating and 2.2 million viewers.

UFC on Fox 12 viewership peaked during the main event, in which Robbie Lawler won a unanimous decision versus Matt Brown, with 3,427,000 viewers. Lawler previously headlined a prime time network television special on CBS exactly six years before meeting Brown. That show, promoted by EliteXC, attracted an average audience of 2.6 million.

In the key advertising demographics, UFC scored a 1.29 in Males 18-34 and a 1.75 in Males 35-49.

The UFC on Fox preliminary card, airing for the first time on Fox, drew a 0.8 rating and 1.3 million viewers. That is a drastic improvement from the last UFC on Fox prelims, which attracted 521,000 viewers, although past prelim matches on FX drew only slightly behind Saturday's.
