Soto believes he is almost there…
MMAjunkie Radio recently interviewed former Bellator featherweight champion Joe Soto, the current bantamweight champion of Tachi Palace Fights, ahead of his fight with Terrion Ware at TPF 20. The fight card is set for tonight at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, CA. Below are some highlights.
Soto on his hopes to get signed by the UFC: "I'm just trying to figure out what I've got to do to get signed, and other than that, I guess I just have to keep winning. One of these days they'll call, I guess. … I'm feeling like I'm almost there. I've just got to keep doing what I'm doing, just keeping winning fights and finishing people. But I feel like I'm almost there after this fight."
Soto's thoughts on Ware: "I checked out a couple of fights. It seems like he's pretty technical. I try not to overanalyze anything and try to worry about myself. He's a tough fighter; I expect him to be a tough fighter."
Soto's thoughts on being able to compete with the UFC roster: "I feel like I have the potential to beat anybody on any given day, and I have the potential to finish anybody. I've trained with a lot of UFC guys, and I've done well with them."
Soto on the UFC being his goal: "It was definitely a fun time in my life when I was young and coming up. But right now, the goal is the UFC. But if they're not going to pick me up, I have my options open to anybody."
