TJ Grant Looking To Return In The Fall

After over a year...
Sherdog reports that T.J. Grant is hoping to make his UFC return this fall after a hiatus that lasted over a year. He is training once again after getting a concussion during jiu-jitsu practice last year. He was set to fight Benson Henderson at UFC 164 in Milwaukee last August. Anthony Pettis took his place and made Henderso submit to win the lightweight title in his hometown.
Concussion symptoms lasted for months and Grant was out longer than he intended. He was on a five-fight winning streak at the time. Grant gave up his #1 contender's spot due to his absence and now Pettis will defend against Gilbert Melendez at UFC 181 on December 6.
At a press conference to promote UFC Fight Night in Halifax, Grant said: "It feels good. It's definitely been a challenging year for me, but I'm near the end of it and I'm looking forward to resuming my career soon. I hope to be ready to fight this fall, and I'm really close. I still can't put a percentage or a timetable. But I'm optimistic, and I feel confident going forward."
He won't actually be a part of the event on October 4 (he is from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia), which has a main event fight between Rory MacDonald and Tarec Saffiedine.
He added: "This is a massive thing to happen to Atlantic Canada. I'm just thankful it's happening in my time, and I'm looking forward to the show. It's gonna be awesome."
His last fight was at UFC 160 on May 25, 2013. He beat Gray Maynard in the first round (2:05) with punches. He also has wins over Shane Roller, Carlo Prater, Evan Dunham and Matt Wiman.
