A big opportunity...
- Danny Castillo recently spoke about his UFC 177 fight against Tony Ferguson. Here are the highlights…
On Saturday's Fight With Tony Ferguson: "I know this is an important fight. My last 18 fights with the company have prepared me for this opportunity. I know there's a lot riding on this fight in terms of my advancement in the lightweight division, but it's all good pressure."
On Moving Up The Card: "I feel like all my hard work is starting to pay off," he said. "The UFC appreciates my last fight and my whole career with the company. I feel like I represent the sport and the company in a lot of ways. They definitely appreciate that and they gave me the co-main event. It feels good to be appreciated."
On The Opportunity: "I have to seize this opportunity and make good of it," Castillo said. "A dominant victory and a finish will put me in (Top 15) position. The lightweight division's so stacked. … I need to have a dominant victory in order to advance. I grew up in Sacramento, so there's going to be a hometown advantage, I believe. Just hearing the fans is going to be awesome. It's something you live for and dream about as a kid."
