Matt Mitrione Compares Derrick Lewis With Kimbo Slice
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 09.03.2014

Matt Mitrione spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Derrick Lewis at UFC Fight Night 50. Check out the highlights:

On Lewis' reputation: "I think that Derrick Lewis has a little bit of a mystique about him, almost like Kimbo did. He's a little better. He hasn't lost in a while. But I've been in this situation before, so I'm pretty comfortable with where I'm at."

On Lewis calling him out in July at the TUF 19 Finale: "I didn't even hear him. Dominick Cruz turned around and was like, ‘That guy just called you out twice!' I was like, ‘Get out of here.' But good for him. He thinks he's good enough to fight me, so he called me out. I plan on putting hands on him and see what he can turn into."

On Stefan Struve's health issues: "It was unfortunate that happened. Even though fighters get kind of a bad rap at times, there's a lot of camaraderie and a small brotherhood, especially with guys like us who have been in the UFC for a while and have made our keep here."

On the fight: "I really look forward to get in there and do some work. If you're going to say my name out loud and that you want to fight me, you're going to get the best of me possible. I'm looking forward to putting that on display."
