HBO and UFC agree to a TV deal
Posted by Ramon Aranda on 04.19.2007

According to Fox Sports, HBO and UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) have come to terms on televising UFC events. During a recent conference call to promote UFC 70, UFC president Dana White told the press that his company has finally come to terms with HBO.

"It's been a long, hard process, this deal," White said. "But now I'm very comfortable with where we are. HBO and the UFC are both comfortable. We'll do one show this summer."

The biggest obstacle was determining which company would handle the production. The UFC produces their own shows, but finally agreed to let HBO handle the production of all UFC related programming to appear on their network. An unnamed source at HBO told the Los Angeles Times that a broadcast team with vast knowledge of mixed martial arts would be selected for the telecast.
