A restructuring plan in place, or the first sign of trouble?
HDNet Fights has confimed that their upcoming February 15th show has been cancelled and as of this time there is no date set of a rescheduling. Word is that the event will be held in early spring or the summer based on the availability of the American Airlines Center, owned by HDNet Fights owner Mark Cuban.
"The availability of our venue is tough in March and April," said Guy Mezger, President of HDNet Fights. "We're taking the time to build a little more infrastructure that's all our own," said Mezger. "Right now, we share a lot of it with HDNet and the [Dallas] Mavericks."
This is believed to be the one of the reasons for the cancellation and the extra time off is also believed to be to allow HDNet Fights to adequately meet obligations to partners like the IFL, Ring of Combat, and Sportfight. There are also talks with M-1 to possibly put on another joint Yarennoka promotion tentatively scheduled for sometime in March.
