UFC Releases Kalib Starnes

And he's gone....
The UFC has released former Ultimate Fighter contestant Kalib Starnes. Starnes was released due to his poor performance at UFC 83 against Nate Quarry. The following are quotes made by UFC president Dana White and Nate Quarry on Starnes performance:
Dana White: ""He just doesn't belong in the UFC and after his performance the other night, he should consider a new line of work."
Nate Quarry: "I think if you're fighting in the UFC, you've got to come to fight, I would much rather get knocked out than lose a decision running backwards. No disrespect to Kalib. I know the stress really gets to you. A lot of guys, they focus on not wanting to lose instead of wanting to win. I didn't mean to disrespect him in any way. I just got frustrated because you can't fight when somebody's moving backward that fast."
Least surprising story of the year. Only shock is that Dana didn't give him more of a reaming.

Thats to easy. If I were Dana I would have dropped him down on the non televised card and still book fights. I get the impression Starnes wanted to be fired.

Are you sure he was released? Maybe he just backpeddled out the door and down the street before Dana could talk to him.
