I guess they are banking on Mir winning his next fight? Even with that win (if he gets it) we all know he still doesn't deserve a title shot yet. This is horse shit.

great. theres no better way to kill the prestige of a title than to have it defended once every millenium. He ought to be defending that title right now but we'll be lucky to see it by october which will make a solid 10 months

Fuck the UFC - stop putting fucking champions on the damn reality tv show and holding up divisions.

Mir doesn't deserve a title shot. Disgusting.

no kidding Mir beats a guy in only his second match and he gets a title shot?

I think its kinda interesting that Nog is a coach. It's a bit vexing though, considering his english isn't the best but it gives TUF some international flavour...I'm kind of tired of this generic American tattooed thug fighter TUF stuff (OMG...he put LIME juice in the chewing tobacco!)...maybe with Nog's inclusion, we'll actually get some real MMA artists involved.

And you guys can shit on Mir all you want but seriously...who else could be a contender for Nog? Kongo lost his last fight, Gonzaga lost to Werdum, who wouldn't be much better than Mir, Herring has already been beaten by Nog (although barely) and wasnt that impressive against Kongo and well, the heavyweight division of the UFC is kind of blah anyway.

uhhhhhhh......what? i understand them trying to promote the heavywieght division, why dont they have heavyweight fighters on the show?

To Paul, Mir beats somebody in hes second match and gets a title shot? Do you not know who Mir is? He is a former champion and has had several wins in his career, and I agree with the guy who posted below you people should quit their bitching, the HW division is so fucked up right now Mir is probably the best choice for a shot, Vera lost to Sylvia, and Verdum isn't exciting and Dana doesn't like pushing boring fighters, and Kongo needs more seasoning before he gets a shot. I think putting the title on hold for TUF is a good thing because it gives time to let the division grow and get more contenders, so we'll see.

that's the point... the HW division is a joke right now- nobody is qualified at the moment to go for the belt since they're losing everyone... and Mir certainly isn't ready.

Why must it be HW coaches? Middleweight would make more sense right now.

Can Nogueira speak English clearly? I've never heard him in an interview and I did not watch the Sylvia fight to hear his post fight interview? Furthermore I don't think it's that bad an idea to have your champions on what is your "flagship show" I mean how else is the casual fan gonna get to know your Champions.

Does he even speak English? I didn't catch the Sylvia fight so I don't know what his post fight interview consisted of. Furthermore I don't think that it's such a bad idea to have your champions on your "flagship show" being showcased. I mean let's face it it's a great way for the casual fan to get in touch with your product. Now, my real question is Had Brock beaten Mir would he have been next season's coach?

say what u will i kind of like this matchup. I'm intrigued at the thought of a BJJ chessmatch for the HW Title. You can cry all you want about Mir only winning two recent fights but I would much rather see him fight Nogiera than Werdum. Of course if it was my choice it would be Vera vs Nogiera and it would be in july instead of October.

Maybe this means we’ll get a bunch of Brazilian fighters for Nog to coach. That would give the show a different feel and would probably add a different element to things.

I used to be a big Mir fan before his accident. (Anyone who rips Sylvias arm off is someone ill like). But since he returned hes looked like shit. He matched up real well against Lesnar. His style did I should say. Mir shouldnt get a title shot.

And can Nog even speak english? I hate listening to some jerk speak broken english.

And yea, keep the champions off of TUF.

This can't be right. The LHW and LW divisions are probably the two best in the UFC right now so why would they want more fighters? They should do HW since that division is crap.

This is awesome you bankroll Mir and when he loses his next fight will they replace him with another heavyweight and be like this is who we really had Mir was just on standby lolzk

Jesus. I really hope the part about them coaching the light heavyweight and lightweights is a mistake, because that makes absolutely no sense. Those divisions don't need any help, but the heavyweight division sure needs an influx of new talent. Also, why have heavyweights coach those two divisions? It doesn't make any sense.

Nog's english is plenty good enough for TUF, though I imagine there might be some subtitles in certain places, and the UFC has learned there is no point of running HW's on the show, because 90% of them cut to LHW when they are finished the show anyways.

Horrible......Horrible....Horrible..
