Heath Herring To Face Brock Lesnar At UFC 87?
Posted by Dustin James on 05.23.2008

Reports coming out of different fight camps say that the UFC is urgently trying to get a replacement to fill Mark Coleman's spot after Coleman was forced to pull out of his UFC 87 fight with Brock Lesnar due to a torn MCL this week. Heath Herring's name is the the one floating around the most, however Herring is hoping for a title shot after beating Cheick Kongo.

Kongo and Eddie Sanchez have also been rumored as possible replacements, however Kongo is scheduled to face Dan Evensen at UFC 87.

Why not just give Lesnar a can? They've already got GSP/Fitch and Huerta/Florian on the card. Let the Minnesota fans go home happy by having Brock face Justin McCully or someone comperably bad.

I agree...Lesnar just being on the card is draw, just give him a softball and let th other two marquee matches carry the good fights part of the show

As I mentioned in the other news comments- I was guessing Eddie Sanchez.

While Herring would be a great fight, I wouldn't think Brock would be ready for him yet. Sanchez would be a much easier opponent and a decent rub for both of them.

Where does Brock Lesnar shop when he needs fight gear?

Herring is a can. Look at what happened to him in his first UFC fight. The guy got him on the ground and laid on him all fight. Lesnar will toss him around and beat on him and end it in less then 3 minutes. Just dont put him against someone who is great on the ground and can make you tap from any position down there and Brock will wreck them.

Dam you EliteXC, ya already used Tank Abbott up. Just put Sanchez or Herring in there. Herring would be a better fight, but theres a better chance Brock beats Sanchez. Where does Mark Coleman shop when he needs fight gear?

I'm no herring fan, but he's far far from a can. TONS of experience in some pretty big fights & he recently came really close to finishing Nog. Tough fight for a newcomer like Brock.

Man, f*ck Brock Lesnar. I'm already sick of him.

Herring is aterrible pick if they want to build brock. I think the UFC will just keep putting him in over his head and never resign him. anyway, Herring would beat him. Guve him Kongao or Sanchez, at least then he stands a chance
