Countering Affliction with a free special!
- The show will be LIVE on Spike TV from the Palms in Las Vegas, and will feature the double main event of Hermes Franca vs. Frankie Edgar as well as the Light Heavyweight debut of Anderson Silva, facing James Irvin.
- Anderson Silva will not be vacating the Middleweight Title, and if all goes well he will be competing in both weight classes.
Sorry this side show act is not going to stop people from watching Randy Couture's Affliction PPV
Paul Buntello Vs Alexandrea( Fedors Brother )will be better than this alone !
Anderson Silva vs James Irving ? Come on i woudl rather watch Anderson beat a 3yr old as much as this will turn out !

Anderson Silva vs. James Irvin? Whhhaaattt?!?! I kinda like Irvin, and feel that this could be a dangerous fight for Silva, but I will be rooting for Anderson all the way

get the fuck outta here...is this confirmed? why would anderson silva fight james irvin? that's the dumbest booking i've ever heard...every fight should be a superfight for anderson silva, instead your risking him getting knocked the fuck out by james irvin???? fucking retarded

Is this his Royal Rumble to Afflictions Bunkhouse Stampede?

He's facing Irvin just to see how he does at LHW....I'm sure if he wins he'll get a big name in his next LHW bout.

You people complain too gaddamn much.

I agree with The Critic. Nobody is happy about anything the UFC does. Moving up a weight class is no small task and throwing him in with Chuck is probably not the best idea at this point.

It really pisses me off when the ufc and spike deny a free show and the next day it's confirmed atleast they could just say no comment. And yes this show will be watched by way more people than affliction's PPV. why would you wanna pay $40 to watch that over a free UFC card. i mean the main event is fedor vs big boring tim and everyone blasted tim for his last few fights so i'd say tim doesn't have drawing power. So people have the option of seeing tim just throw his jab and get gased or watch Silva put his knee in lrving's face over and over.

Wait, so is this the major announcement we have all been waiting for for the last few weeks?? Give me the Affliction PPV.

LMFAO at Randy Couture's Affliction comment.
What exactly does Couture have to do with Affliction?
Silva vs. Irvin? I will be checking it out. Dangerous match for Silva though as Irvin has shown he at least has some explosive knockout power.

I'll watch this instead of Affliction. The matchups on Affliction are shitty.
I'd rather see Silva than Fedor, and free mma>ppv.
Franca/Edgar could end up being a great matchup.

It is free! What is the problem? Please, all Affliction has are UFC throw aways. Tim The Maniac? I hated him in UFC, why would I like him anywhere else?
