Fedor Finally Impresses Dana White
Posted by Ashish on 07.20.2008

Dana White, who has been critical of Fedor Emelianenko in the past for not facing tough competition, was impressed with Fedor's dominating win over former UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia at Affliction: Banned on Saturday night.

"It does (change my opinion). Tim Sylvia was a real opponent."

But he also stood by Anderson Silva, saying Silva is the best fighter in the world. Silva made short work of James Irvin in the main event of UFC Ultimate Fight Night 14 on Saturday night.

Well of course hes going to say that. I think he knows that if Couture gets out of his contract in October, theres gonna be a mega-fight, and it wont be in the UFC.

Anderson Silva best fighter in the world ?

22-4 makes you the best in the world ? I think Anderson Silva is a great fighter but come on he was brought in and fought Chris Leben for that he was promised a title fight against Franklin who had only fought 2 times practically once each year before fighting Silva ! The division and belt was a joke Franklin had no competition since beating Evan Tanner - so when Franklin got his chance to shine there was noboy in it ! When Silva arrived he got hot shoted to the Title where he beat a soft only had 2 fights in 2 yrs Franklin !

I mean come on the division was a joke the few fights Anderson had was a cake walk -save Dan Henderson who came off a huge loss to Quinton and dropped considerable amount of weight and lost again !

That was Silva only real challenge !

James Irvin is a joke as well !

So to claim him the best is crazy !

GSP fights fresh faces in his division 24/7 and it's stacked with talent

GSP pound for pound is the best UFC has

FEDOR is the BEST HEavyweight and BEST FIGHTER PERIOD in the WORLD !

Let the great debate begin! Who is the best pound-for-pound fighter right now? Fedor or Silva?

Couture/Fedor would have been a megafight if it happened last year....it's lost it's luster now, and Randy has been exsposed as a whiny bitch.

WHAT?!?!!?! IS he High?

FEDOR can beat anderson Silva easily.

The Couture/Emelianenko fight will be epic!

My god man. Why can't anything be something other than "Epic" on this site? Amazing.

if Anderson Silva walks around at 215 id like to see him go up to HEAVY WEIGHT and fight FEDOR at some point that would be awesome I think it might be better then Randy and FEDOR is gonna be

if anderson silva walks around at 215 I wanna see him go up to heavy weight and fight FEDOR I bet he might win

rofl "Anderson Silva might win against Fedor" yeah right why not GSP vs Fedor now ?

Sorry UFC fan boys are sounding more and more ridiculous

Dana White is shitting his pants and crying out loudly now to have refuse to give the best fighter EVER the money he wanted to fight in the UFC .

Oh yes cry Dana, Affliction has owned you so hard last night and it was only the beggining of it my friend .

Donald Trump get ready to sign big checks for the likes of Fedor, Couture, Arlovski, Barnett AND Mirko cro cop Filipovic !

It would be an epic fight

Glad to see the Fedor fanboys wanting Silva to move up yet another weight class to fight their darling, rather than the most logical route - Fedor dropping twenty pounds to fight Silva at LHW. That'd be a class heavier than Silva's normal and a class lighter than Fedor's normal, the very definition of a catch weight.

Fedor dropping 20pounds to fight guys with a little more speed? Might scare him there

Posted By: Andy (Guest)  on July 20, 2008 at 08:13 PM

Dear Dana White,

The man you talked so much shit about over the past few months is currently 2-0 against your current HW champ and just shitted on one of your former two time HW champs in less than a minute. You just got PWNED

Posted By: Fedor>UFC (Guest)  on July 20, 2008 at 08:22 PM

I will admit the KO was impressive, but now lets see Fedor continue to fight against top-level competition. Now lets get Fedor/Arlovski or Fedor/Couture (I think this fight will suck because Fedor will catch Randy and submit him)

Posted By: Guest#5119 (Guest)  on July 21, 2008 at 12:50 PM

Tell me something that either one of these guys can't do. But seriously, who has a better chance of losing in their weight class. I think the answer is Fedor. Randy CAN beat him. The only comp. for Anderson is in 205 or if GSP moves up. Answer this, who is better, Dan Henderson or Tim Sylvia? Yep, just what I thought. If Fedor beats Randy, I will give it to him then, unless of course Anderson goes and takes the 205 belt.

Posted By: Fedor vs. Anderson (Guest)  on July 21, 2008 at 09:39 PM

Who's better, Sylvia or Henderson? Uhhh... Henderson? Without a doubt? Easily? Sylvia is a lazy fighter and Dana is right... He's a legit contender even though he IS lazy, and Fedor proved that light competition is not why he's so dominant. Tim I thought at best could lose a decision and at worst... Well, there you have the fight.

Silva and Fedor at 205 would be, probably, the most interesting fight today.

Because it'll never happen, mostly. Couture and Fedor is losing luster... Because it's gonna happen. GSP vs. Anderson? It's likely. Either way we'll never truly know who's the best pound for pound ever, because there's no such thing as the best in any category. Just the guy who hasn't fought someone who can beat him yet. MMAth doesn't work. A beating B and B beating C doesn't mean that A beats C.

The only real solid, reliable data is seeing actual fights.

-Mike
