THIS IS THE SHOWTIME PORTION OF THE SHOW!
-LIVE from STOCKTON, California Elite XC is back on the air!
-Gus Johnson, Mauro Ranallo and Frank Shamrock welcome us to the show, as we see Antonio Silva and Justin Eilers arrive.
Bantamweight Bout - Wilson Reis (4-0) vs. Bryan Caraway (9-2):
ROUND ONE: The official is Josh Rosenthal. Caraway specializes in COWBOY KARATE~! That's almost as cool as THUG-JITZU! The mat is blood stained from a prelim bout. Here we go. They come out slow, Caraway with a good shot and Reis is down, but right back up. More of a slip really. They both trade some shots, leg kick by Reis and he then takes Caraway down. Into the guard, Reis works for side control and is into the half guard. Reis gets side control and continues to land some short shots on Caraway. Back to the guard, he stands and gets quality strikes on Caraway. Back to the half guard, into north south and then to the feet. Great scramble. Caraway with a good right, combo by Reis and they back off of each other. Reis shoots and gets a single leg takedown, and right into the half guard. Reis now gets full mount, and then the back of Caraway. Caraway stands, escapes and they separate. Caraway is in the fight after suffering a dislocated kneecap in training. They circle, Reis looks for a takedown, stuffed at first but then gets the takedown. Short shots by Reis as the round ends.
SCORECARD:: Three big takedowns by Reis will get him the round easily, 10-9.
ROUND TWO: Round two begins and they circle, jabs by Reis and then another takedown. Into the guard, some good lefts land as Caraway tries to close the guard. He scrambles and escapes again, catches Reis with a knee as he shoots, he unloads and he has control. Reis manages a single leg and regains control, but he was rocked. Half guard by Reis, transitions to side control and then Caraway gets it back to half guard. Back to full guard, Reis lands some lefts as he works towards side control again. Up kick by Caraway, but Reis gets side control. Lefts by Reis, who is bleeding from that knee. Caraway gets it back to full guard, Reis gets back to half and then side control. Escapes, drops an elbow and they are up against the cage. Reis pulls Caraway down, but Caraway lands on top and Reis appears to be tired. Caraway works the body shots, half guard now and Reis with a great reversal and drops repeated lefts from half guard. Side control now, lefts by Reis and then an elbow. Caraway spins and gets to his feet, they trade against the cage and the round ends.
SCORECARD:: A much closer round, tons of aggression, but I feel Reis had the majority of the control and is up 20-18.
ROUND THREE: Here we go with round three, they come out and a right by Caraway. A combo and a knee land, Reis gets a single leg takedown again and he is working that injured left leg of Caraway. Half butterfly guard by Caraway, to half guard and lands some clean elbow strikes. Back to the full guard as Reis lands some more lefts. Reis works towards the cage, Caraway works to spin but is stopped. Reis gets full mount, Caraway spins and now he has dominant position in the guard. Elbows by Caraway, into half guard and Reis works back into the guard and then half guard. Caraway escapes and back to the feet they go, a good right by Caraway, stuffs a shoot and gets a knee, but Reis gets another takedown. Caraway tries to scramble, but Reis lands some more lefts and then stands, drops down and lands on his head with a punch and Caraway backs off and wants to stand. Knee by Caraway, but Reis catches a flying knee and gets a takedown once again. They get to the feet, separate and that is the fight.
SCORECARD:: Caraway worked hard and did damage from the stand up, but Reis continually took him down and controlled the bout. I will go 30-27 for Reis, but a great effort from Caraway.
-Mauro and Gus discuss the card, and the crowning of the first ever Elite Heavyweight Champion.
-We get a video package for Rafael Feijao vs. Travis Galbraith.
Light Heavyweight Bout - Rafael Feijao (6-1) vs. Travis Galbraith (15-5):
ROUND ONE: The official is Josh Rosenthal. Anderson Silva is in Feijao's corner. Here we go with round one. They touch and a leg kick by Feijao trips up Travis. Feijao in with a combo, they clinch and go to the cage. Knees by Travis, then by Feijao. To the cage they go again, they trade some knees and then they separate. A right by Feijao gets shoulder, they clinch and to the cage they go. Boy shots by Travis, back against the cage they go and they get warned to work. Feijao gets a takedown, has half guard, stands and gets an elbow. To the feet, Travis had a leg, they clinch and then a big elbow by Travis. Big knee by Feijao, combo and another knee to Travis. Another knee and then another drops Travis and he pounces on him, lands some ground shots and the fight is stopped, Rafael Feijao takes the win.
The medical staff checks on Travis Galbraith. He took the fight on shot notice, as he had to go up a weight class as well to take the bout.
THE RESULT: Rafael Feijao via RD1 (3:00) TKO
-Karen Bryant is with Scott Smith. They discuss the last fight and the condition of his eye and foot. The eye is fine now, and the foot wasn't broken thankfully. Smith thinks he took all of what Lawler had to offer and his confidence is high for this fight. His kids told him that they were upset that he didn't win the title.
-We get a video package for Antonio Silva vs. Justin Eilers.
-Frank Shamrock's vanity braces are really distracting. It had to be said.
EXC World Title Bout- Antonio Silva (10-1) vs. Justin Eilers (19-6-1Draw):
ROUND ONE: The official is Herb Dean. Silva has roughly 30lbs on Eilers in this fight. Here we go, they come out and leg kicks by Silva. Jabs by Eilers, who wants to box judging by the stance. Silva gets a good combo, they circle and Eilers is reaching too much for his shots. Silva stalks Eilers, jabs by Eilers and leg kicks by Silva. A high kick grazes Eilers and then gets a jab. Silva shoots, drags Eilers down and gets the back of Eilers, lands rights to the head, knees to the body and then some hammer fists. Herb Dean stands them up and takes a point from Silva for a shot to the back of the head. They touch and are back to action. Big high kick checked by Eilers, but Silva drops him with a follow up shot and tries for an anaconda choke, but Eilers escapes and back to the feet they go. Jabs by Eilers, missing and a combo by Silva lands. They clinch, to the cage they go and Eilers works some knee strikes. Silva answers with knees to the body, they separate and a body kick by Silva lands. Jab by Eilers lands, gets another and Silva counter strikes. Leg kick by Silva, jab by Eilers and the round ends.
SCORECARD:: Silva controlled the round with the takedown and damage, but with the point being taken, the round is a 9-9 round.
ROUND TWO: Eilers out and gets caught after he gets a left hook, loses his mouthpiece and Silva DESTROYS him with a knee and about 15 unanswered shots, and that is all as Dean stops it.
THE RESULT: WINNER AND FIRST EVER ELITE XC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION Antonio Silva via RD2 (0:19) TKO
THIS IS THE CBS PORTION OF THE SHOW!
-CBS is showing some snazzy video package as I turn over to their portion of the show.
-Back from a commercial and they run down the card.
ROUND ONE: The official is Steve Mazzigatti. Here we go, they touch and Cyborg with a shot, a knee and then they go to the ground. Baszler works for the knee bar, Cyborg rolls, Baszler with the toehold and Cyborg starts to land shots and tries to break it. Cyborg stacks her, stands and gets half guard. Elbows by Cyborg, gets a warning for a shot to the back of the head and back into the guard. Cyborg stands, drops down a good right, thigh kicks and a good right. Baszler then grabs the leg, figure fours the leg and Cyborg has top control but the leg is bent in a bad position. Cyborg gets the leg out, lands some good shots, a warning for shots to the back of the head and the round ends.
SCORECARD:: A fun first round with a ton of action. Baszler worked her submission game, but Cyborg was able to counter and do more damage. I have it 10-9 for Cyborg.
ROUND TWO: Round two begins, body kick by Baszler, they clinch and knees by Cyborg. She begins to unload on Baszler, Baszler down as she is tired and couldn't get the takedown. Back up and a good combo by Cyborg. Another combo lands, knee by Cyborg and Baszler is backing off. Jabs by Cyborg, starts to unload again and Baszler is down. Cyborg backs off, celebrates and jumps on top of the cage, but it is NOT over! They go back to the fight, Cyborg unloads again and takes Baszler down. Cyborg backs off, they trade and takes Baszler to the cage and is destroying her with rights and lefts. She then gets a punch that looks like it hit the throat of Baszler, and she drops and that is all. That last shot was right on the cheek born after seeing the replay.
They show Gina Carano in the crowd and she doesn't look thrilled about the possibility of fighting Cyborg. That was a dominating performance.
THE RESULT: Cristiane Cyborg via RD2 (2:48) TKO

Gus Johnson is with Jake Shields. Shields says he thought he could submit him, and he wanted to keep winning in round one, and he did. Winning the title would love to fight the winner of GSP and Fitch to unify the titles.
-Karen Bryant is with KIMBO SLICE. He says life is great, but he has no private life, but it has changed for the best. The October 4th show will be in Florida, and that makes him happy. They discuss the Thompson fight, and he says he learned a lot from the fight. He has to train to be a complete fighter, Thompson was great and he respects him. He isn't sure who his next opponent is but he wants a KO. He just wants a great fight in the main event tonight.

Lightweight Bout - Nick Diaz (17-7-1NC) vs. Thomas Denny (26-16):

Denny out quickly, leg kicks by Denny, gets a takedown and lands a shot as Diaz gets to his feet. Right by Denny, leg kick and then a combo. Denny is boxing right now and getting clean shots. They clinch, gets a takedown, but Diaz goes for an arm lock. Denny escapes an arm bar, has the back of Diaz and gets hammer fists. To the feet, Diaz looks for a takedown but they go to the cage. They both throw a bit wildly and Diaz to the body. Elbow by Diaz, they keep throwing as the round ends to a huge ovation!
SCORECARD:: Awesome round there. Denny brought it to Diaz, but Diaz was able to rock him a few times and I think takes the round 10-9, but it was close and could go either way.

Lawler is bleeding from the top of the head. He unloads on Smith now and then a wicked elbow by Smith again. To the cage they go, body shots by Lawler who is bleeding badly. Strong lefts by Lawler, knees and the blood is really flowing from his head. Dirty boxing by Lawler, short elbows and then knees. Lawler drops Smith with a knee, Lawler gets his back and as they get to the feet then gets two more knees, unloads with shots and Herb Dean stops the fight! Lawler dances to celebrate.
THE RESULT: Robbie Lawler via RD2 (2:35) TKO
Gus Johnson is with Robbie Lawler. Lawler says he got close and knew Smith was working the elbows so he needed to stop that. Smith is tough and dictated the pace, and came after him. He got cut and had to step it up so the ref didn't stop it.
Scott Smith joins us and says that we need to give it up to Lawler. The 2nd round he made a mistake and waited for the ref, and got taken out. If he could do something differently, he would have kept pushing the pace. Smith thanks his sponsors and says he will still take his kids to Disney tomorrow.
