Joey Villasenor To Fight On September 20 EliteXC Card

He could be facing Murilo "Ninja" Rua.....
EliteXC's Joey Villasenor recently confirmed to MMAJunkie.com that he will be fighting on the September 20 EliteXC card. Villasenor also said that EliteXC is mentioning Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos & Murilo "Ninja" Rua as possible opponents. Villasenor had the following to say about his possible opponents:
"They keep on bringing up Ninja's name. They're bringing up other names, but Ninja is the one that is sticking out right now."
Villasenor and Rua fought back in June 2007 for the EliteXC middleweight title where Rua won via second-round TKO. He then goes on to mention that if he's victorious on September 20, it could lead to a title shot against Robbie Lawler:
"As long as I'm busy and active, that's all I care about. I've got one more fight, then hopefully me and Robbie can get in there at the end of the year or the beginning of next year."
Lawler defeated Villasenor back in 2006 in PRIDE in just 22 seconds.
