Lots of news on a busy Thursday....
-Diego Sanchez recently posted on his Myspace that he is healthy and and completely healed from the injury that forced him out of his UFC 90 fight with Thiago Alves. He is also willing to accept a fight in either the UFC's welterweight or lightweight division.
-The UFC has released Jess "The Joker" Liaudin. His loss to David Bielkheden at UFC 89 was his third consecutive loss in the UFC.
-Zuffa is currently planning on running eight WEC shows on Versus next year as well as a PPV show. The shows on Versus are expected to air on Sunday nights, except during football season.
-Hermes Franca vs. Joe Lauzon is almost a done deal for the Fight Night show in February.
im glad there moving the wec shows, i thought it was weird that it aired the same time as the ultimate fighter

I have the feeling that Diego may just have what it takes to beat BJ Penn at lightweight. His tough chin and relentless attacks could overcome Penn's lack of cardio and the match could go in the same direction as Hughes/Penn II. I think Diego recognizes that and believes it's his best chance of winning a title. This could at least give Diego an excuse to go back to Greg Jackson's camp and train with GSP.
