Demian Maia to Face Chael Sonnen at UFC 95

The middleweight match-up is set for London...
According to Demian Maia's official website, the world-renowned jiu-jitsu artist will have his fifth fight in the UFC at the company's next London event, UFC 95 on February 21st. Maia's opponent will be former WEC middleweight contender Chael Sonnen. The UFC has yet to officially announce the bout.
Maia is currently 4-0 in his UFC career after recording wins over Ryan Jensen, Ed Herman, Jason MacDonald, and Nate Quarry. He is still undefeated in his mixed-martial arts career.
Sonnen is coming off of his decision win over Paulo Filho at WEC 36, where he defeated the WEC Middleweight Champion but was not awarded the title as Filho failed to make weight. With the WEC eliminating their heavier weight classes Sonnen will get a second chance in the UFC, where he already has a lifetime 1-2 record.
UFC 95 will feature a main event of Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Stevenson. Other bouts expected for the card include Nate Marquardt vs. Wilson Gouveia, Junior dos Santos vs. Stefan Struve, Shannon Gugerty vs. Jeff Lawson, and Justin Bucholz vs. Terry Etim.
95 is filling out nicely... now just make nice with Spike so we can watch it- since it's still far from being worth paying for.
-or make a real main event.

95 is looking better than 93 at this point.

I really think Maia should be given somebody with a bit more name recognition than Sonnen. So he beat Filho, big deal. Wait, no, it's 2008 now and Filho was dreadful. Not a big deal.
Maia should beat Sonnen fairly comfortably, but I can't see what it will do for him given Sonnen wasn't actually in UFC when he beat Filho in the first place. Give him Marquadt or someone like that, a top level Middleweight.

Guest#6346... maybe it isn't about Maia, but for Sonnen.
Zuffa decided to merge the top 3 weights of WEC into the UFC and Sonnen should have been the last WEC Middleweight. It would only be right that they give Sonnen a decent head start- even if his win was due more to Filho giving up and quitting (before the fight) then Chael's skills.
